CLINICAL DIRECTOR

My name is Laura. I am the clinical director and optical manager at Lumen Vision. I have over 20 years of customer service experience and 10 years in the eye care industry. I am proud to be part of a team that is so passionate about helping others. My favorite part of my job is getting to know our patients better and helping them find the perfect pair of glasses. In my spare time, I enjoy being outdoors at the lake or at the baseball field with my husband Mark, our two teenage boys, and our yellow lab.

OPTICAL TEAM LEAD

Hello, my name is Amanda! I am born and raised in West Fargo. I have been in the eye care industry for four years. I enjoy working along side the Lumen Team assisting all patients of every stage of life in their optical needs. My favorite part about our optical is how our frame selection gives back to the community. When I am not working, I am usually with my husband Cody and our son Kyler at his baseball and hockey games, enjoying the new restaurants and breweries around town or at our lake soaking up the sun on the sandbar. You can also find us relaxing at home with our two cats, Kevin and Zumie and our new puppy, Tater Tot.

OPTICIAN/PATIENT CARE COORDINATOR

Hello! My name is Michelle. I have over 25 years of customer service experience. I am newer to the optical industry. I am very excited to be a part of the wonderful team here at Lumen Vision. I really like the fact that Dr. Ryan gives back to our community. I enjoy meeting and talking with new people in all walks of life. I look forward to meeting and helping our patients with their optical needs. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband Jason, our two teenage daughters, and our cute Cockapoo.

REGISTERD NURSE

Hi there – my name is Mandy! I have almost 15 years of experience in the medical field as a Registered Nurse. I am originally from south central North Dakota and received my Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Mary in Bismarck. I am thrilled to be working in the eye care industry. I first came to Lumen Vision as the mom of a vision therapy kiddo. I fell in love with the passion and knowledge that Dr. Ryan and his staff displayed during our time here and I’m so excited to now be a part of this amazing team. I reside in Dilworth MN with my husband Ross, our daughter Keena, and our beagle Schooner. In our spare time, I enjoy being outside, gardening and spending our summer weekends at Ottertail Lake or RVing with extended family.

VISION THERAPY TEAM LEAD

I'm Emma, originally from Fargo, North Dakota. I'm a compassionate and upbeat individual; making a positive impact on people's lives is my burning passion. My academic journey led me to Minnesota State University Moorhead, where I obtained a degree in Early Childhood Education. My background in education has allowed me to work with individuals of all ages and abilities, both in classrooms and in our clinic.

Since January 2021, I've been fulfilling my dream as a vision therapist. What I love most about this role is connecting with patients on a personal level, witnessing their adaptability, growth, and newfound confidence. Having gone through two years of vision therapy myself during my younger days, I can truly empathize with what they are going through.

Beyond my professional life, nature is where I find true happiness. You can often spot me camping, hiking, or skiing. I'm also a proud dog mom, an avid reader, and I enjoy practicing yoga and cooking.

VISION THERAPIST

Hello, my name is Alyson! I moved to the area 11 years ago to attend Concordia College, where I obtained my Psychology degree before heading across the river to earn my M.Ed in School Counseling degree from NDSU. Before joining Team Lumen as a Vision Therapist, I worked as an Elementary School Counselor. I enjoy working one-on-one with kids and love the supporting role we play in their educational journey. It has been fun integrating my educational and counseling backgrounds into my work as a vision therapist. In my free time you can find me chasing my two young toddlers with my husband, Patrick. On the weekends we love going to the park or the zoo, playing outside, and walking our Beagle, Bailey. When I get the chance to relax, I love watching a good show, reading, and experimenting in the kitchen.

VISION THERAPIST

Hello, my name is Megan! I have a passion for working with people and seeing them grow in all areas of their lives! I am originally from southwest Minnesota, and I obtained my undergrad degree in Psychology and Human Development and Family Studies from South Dakota State University. I have spent the last 5 years working in campus ministry and I am excited to now be working in a field that will continue to allow me to help others in a whole new way! I have always loved working with kiddos, and as a vision therapist I am given a front row seat to watch them overcome obstacles. They truly begin to thrive as the person they were created to be! It is incredible to see the growth in confidence and a blossoming love for the things that used to be tricky for them. 

In my free time you can find me outside exploring any beautiful place I can find. One of my biggest personal goals in life is to visit all the US National Parks! However, as much as I love to hike and travel, I also love spending time with family and friends living the good ole midwestern life! 

INSURANCE AND BILLING SPECIALIST

Hi! My name is Maria, and I have been in the eye care industry for over ten years. It is such a blessing to be part of Lumen Vision. Dr. Ryan changes lives, and I am honored to be on his team. In my free time, I enjoy watching movies, spending time with loved ones, reading, crocheting, and journaling. My husband, Eric, and I live in West Fargo. We have three sweet, snuggly, and extremely spoiled dogs.

FOUNDER, OPTOMETRIST

I’ve been working in Fargo as a pediatric and family optometrist since 2018. The best part about my job is helping children improve how their eyes move and focus together. It’s so rewarding (and so much fun!) to watch kids fall in love with reading for the first time once their eyes can track more efficiently. Plus, I get to work with the most amazing people!

INTERN, ARIZONA COLLEGE OF OPTOMETRY

Hello! My name is Lexi and I am currently a fourth-year optometry student at Arizona College of Optometry. I am originally from a small town in northern Minnesota and completed my undergraduate degree at Concordia College in Moorhead. I am really excited to be back in the Fargo/Moorhead area! I am so thankful for the opportunity to be a student intern at Lumen Vision. I am looking forward to learning from Dr. Capouch and his team and using the knowledge and skills from optometry school to help serve the people in the Fargo area and surrounding communities. When I have free time and am not studying, I like to spend time with my family and friends, watch my sisters play volleyball and basketball, read, go to the movie theater, and play volleyball!
